This matched pair of milspec Raytheon 6SN7WGT dual triodes was tested on our Paul Hart-calibrated TV7/U for shorts, gas and transconductance. There were no shorts or gas.
Transconductance measured 62/66 for Tube One and 66/63 for Tube Two where minimum (65%) is 50/50 and 100% is 77/77.
As I write I am playing them in my Radio Craftsmen RC-2 amplifiers fed directly from my Dragonfly DA convert playing Pink Floyd's "Meddle."
This album begins quietly and rapidly builds up to rather-demanding, dynamic material a minute or so into the first track. These tubes handled the extremes admirably. Their very-low noise floor stood in stark contrast to the first discernible notes. And once "One of The Days' got rocking, they kept up nicely with excellent frequency response and dynamic range. The next song, "A Pillar of Winds" presented the next challenge. David Gilmour's (most likely) double-tracked harmonies were ethereal and clearly-defined.
I have now worked my way to the penultimate song. It is few Pink Floyd fans' favorite song and except for noting Seamus The Dog's realistic barking and growling, I'll wait for "Echoes."
It was worth it. The piece is opening quietly with a little bit of noodling by the band. Gilmour's solo has begun and now enters Waters' bass and Mason's drums. The volume continues to rise and the tubes follow along effortlessly as well. The albatross has entered and the song continues to swell. There are a few stages I could comment on, but there really aren't any new demands that would follow.
In summary: these tubes sound great and have no discernible flaws -- including microphonics. They are milspec with micanol bases and pretty good-looking as well.
